My little treasure

Some time, perhaps after the Holidays , I will show you my dollhouse that I bought beginning of this year. It was hand made on the 70's and it is quite beautiful. I have not start working on it because I know if I get my hands busy , I won't sleep!*grin*
The dollhouse is not wired and will need a lot of work. I haven't decided but I am leaning to the Victorian French style. I am almost done with my first room box and I will show you as soon it is ready.

I would love to show the process in which I am making this room box but time really does not allows me. But I will talk about the ideas that I had and why.

Most of my dollhouse items are and will be made by me , but occasionally I will buy a special piece or an item .

This is my *first* special item. It is a hand made from sterling silver by a craftsman in Germany. It is an old set of flatware and last time I saw one for sale at Rubylane.com was over $300. I paid $34 in ebay about 2 years go- Don't I feel blessed?*grin*

It is wonderful to make plans and build a miniature world.I absolutely love it and only wish i had the time to make all that is in my head! Ohhh, that is *not* a complain!*smiles*

making miniature chair and sofa

Hi , I just finished making this sofa today. I got a pattern of the Internet and modified a little bit to fit what I had in mind.Do you believe that I made this sofa using heavy paper ? I am now making little pillows to go with it and hopefully when my room box is ready you will it there.
This is a chair that I bought of ebay. I paid $10 for 13 pieces of miniature furniture. I kept 3 to work with it and gave the others to my daughter Rebecca , in which was very very pleased!*grin*

I love to work with wood however; I confess that working at this scale is a new thing to me and I struggle with the size some times but because I have made dolls furniture before and I have restore our own furniture , the concept is always the same.
Here I cut the back and bottom because I want to create a French provincial chair that had a country and vintage look.

Here I gave a first coat of paint and let it dried.

I finished with a cane and decided to paint it all satin white. I had it in cane color first but after doing some research on French provincial furniture , I saw the when one had cane was always all white. I am not done yet . I am working on pillows.

Polar bear and others...

Hello *you*~

I am showing you my newly creations that i just listed at ebay. More animals I make more I love it. i often think how blessed I am to be able to crab a hot cup of tea and sit at my comfortable rocking chair every day and sculpt these little creations of mine... but the *best* thing is that because my children are home schooled, I have their presence with me all the time and I tell you ... there is nothing like that!*grin*

Pictures will play with you at times.... these animals are quite small... even a Polar bear!

I am loving to make cats. It has not been easy for me and if you look at my first ones you will see great improvements..... Yes!*grin* I know I am getting better because every time I make a new one *I* want to keep it. I am working on my first room box ,since I can not start working on my dollhouse yet , and I know little cats makes a house be a home, don't you think?*smiles*

What about a study room, or a library.... bear rug is great!

No reason to make a momma opossum except that Ben , my youngest son, was crying last week because he found one dead by our door.... poor thing!

I just love the wild animals , and after all , many people out there are making animal room boxes... they just need to find *me*!Grin!!!!!

Sleigh Ride

Hello You~*grin*
I finally finished a reindeer and it's sleigh. I am not sure what I was thinking when I thought that I could make a sleigh but I am glad I did it. It was a challenge that I enjoyed doing it very much but I am not planning to make any other .
I love the colors and the red seat. It gave an elegant look . Do you know that I made this sleigh out of heavy duty paper? Cool. no?Grin!

Little people

My first post!*grin*
I have been wanting to do a blog just for my miniature work for a long time . I thought that would be crazy since I have the other blogs already to keep up, but honestly, I want to record my miniature progress and I am not ready for a website. Blogging is perfect what I am doing here. I plan to post only few selected work of mine , some of my vary favorite...*grin*... Like Anabelle and Alexandre. These my two new figurines . Anabelle is my smallest lady yet. Before Idressed her she measured only a little over 5" tall. You may think there is not a big difference from 5" to 5 1/2" , but I will tell you that only holding her you would understand how *big* the difference it is, specially when comes to painting and costume.

Anabelle, has a parasol that is remo-able from her hands. She is dressed in fine 100%silk.

She has a lovely gentle look that reflects perfectly from a lady of the Victorian Era.

It took me *forever* to make her shoes. They are real lace up leather shoes. I sew with the tiniest needle and my eyes had to rest between each hole - love it, don't you?

Alexandre is an older gentleman, like my lady , he has many tiny details. He is also smaller than the average size dollhouse man.... he measures 5 3/4". His entire outfit was made from 100% silk.

He is amazing in person. His face has a strong character .
I will miss both of them when I list them and I am having second thoughts ...grin... but as an artist that is what I do- make things that I love and hope that others will love it too.
I will post her when they are available and where.
I am almost done with a reindeer and a sleigh.... what a challenge... I won't say it to much until my next post.
